CHESTERVILLE — Police are following up on leads after a woman found a man inside her home Tuesday morning on Zion’s Hill Road, Maine Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland said Wednesday.

There was no contact, either physical or verbal, between the man and the woman, he said.

The incident was reported at about 9 a.m. Tuesday.

Maine State Police are working with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department on the case, McCausland said.

“They are following up on some leads,” he said.

There is no connection that police are aware of with the June homicide in Farmington, he said.

Grace Burton, 81, of Farmington was stabbed to death by an assailant after her first-floor apartment was entered at Margaret Chase Smith Apartments, a complex for the elderly, on Fairbanks Road in the early morning hours of June 21. Police say she was stabbed multiple times in her head and torso.

No suspect has been charged in her murder.
