LIVERMORE FALLS – RSU 73 Superintendent Robert Wall said he will go over the process Thursday of what needs to take place if the school board decides to close one high school building.

Currently there are two high school buildings, now considered campuses, that make up Spruce Mountain High School. The north campus is in Jay and the south campus in Livermore Falls.

Regional School Unit 73 facilities committee is waiting on a feasibility study being done on both the Jay and Livermore Falls schools to determine which one would meet the needs of the consolidated high school. Once the facilities committee reviews the study, it will make a recommendation to the entire board. The study is expected to be ready for review soon.

There is a possibility that one school will be closed, Wall said Wednesday.

However, no decision has been made.

Wall will give his overview to the board during his report to the school board at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 13, at the Cedar Street Board Room.
