BROWNFIELD — The original lineup of Bela Fleck & The Flecktones, together for the first time in almost two decades, will perform Sunday, Nov. 13, at the Stone Mountain Arts Center.
A groundbreaking banjoist, composer and bandleader, Fleck is the only musician to be nominated for Grammys in jazz, bluegrass, pop, country, spoken word, Christian, composition and world music categories. His total count is 11 Grammys won and 27 nominations.
The Grammy Award-winning quartet has been on a North American tour since May supporting its recently released album, “Rocket Science., which offers a range of influences, including classical, jazz, bluegrass, African music, electric blues, and Eastern European folk dances.
In September, Fleck debuted his “Concerto for Banjo and Orchestra,” composed for and performed with the 84-piece Nashville Symphony Orchestra.
Performing will be Bela Fleck on banjo; Howard Levy, piano/harmonica; Victor Wooten, bass; and Roy “Futureman” Wooten, percussion and drumitar.
