PARIS — Nikki Abbott, director of Western Maine University and Community College Center (WMUCC), has announced a Veterans Resource Fair being held at the center from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19.

Active military personnel, veterans and their family members are welcome to visit the center to explore local college options. They will be able to tour the Department of Veterans Affairs Maine Mobile Vet Center bus and meet WMUCC center staff as well as Veterans Services staff. Faculty and students may also be available to answer questions.

UMA Veterans Services staff member present will be Amy Line, UMA project coordinator of Military Achievement Project, Navy veteran, UMA alumna and adjunct faculty member, whose husband currently serves in the Navy.

Line said, “We sincerely appreciate the service and sacrifices our veterans have made to our nation. UMA has been nationally recognized as a veteran-friendly campus and has a long history of helping veterans transition into higher education. Including South Paris in this fall’s tour is an important stop for us. We’ve many veterans and their family members attending UMA classes here.”
