HARRISON — Registration for local children in grades one through six who are interested in playing basketball will be held at the Elementary School gym Thursday, Oct. 20, from 5 to 6:30 p.m.

The fee for girls and boys in grades three through six is $30 per child or $50 maximum per family. This fee includes a T-shirt and two practices per week with games on Saturdays. Checks should be made payable to the Oxford Hills Athletic Boosters.

The fee for the Recreation Department’s Little Dribblers basketball program for grades one and two is $15 with practice once a week for seven weeks and includes a T-shirt and a basketball. Checks should be made out to the Town of Harrison.

Recreation Department Director Paula Holt said both programs focus on teaching players the basic fundamentals of basketball, teamwork and sportsmanship.

The NYSCA basketball clinic for volunteers interested in coaching youth basketball and who are not currently certified will be held at a later date at the Town Office conference room. Volunteers interested in teaching and coaching Harrison youth must attend this clinic. The clinic is paid for by the Recreation Department.
