LEWISTON — The board of directors of Common Ties Mental Health Services announces that Ray Benjamin, LSW, has been selected to lead the agency as executive director.
He has worked as Common Ties’ director of program operations, overseeing all agency programs and services, for the past 13 years and has been in the mental health field for 20 years.
Benjamin has been instrumental in developing new programs and has led the agency in implementing integrated primary and behavioral health and care for co-occurring disorders, as well as enhancing quality and process improvement within the organization. He is very involved in the leadership of the mental health industry through his engagement in collaborations with other agencies and leading Common Ties through best-practice pilot site-implementations.
He is a 1997 graduate of Springfield College and a Marine Corps combat veteran. He lives in Bowdoinham with his wife and two children.
Common Ties Mental Health Services provides community-based, adult mental health services at the Peer Wellness and Recovery Center, 100 Pine St., Lewiston, case management, medication management in Androscoggin County, and housing subsidy management in Androscoggin, Franklin and Oxford counties.
