GREENE — Allen Pond Improvement Association has announced that the water levels on Allen Pond will be lower than normal for the next few weeks because of necessary dam repairs.
Association leaders said work will involve repairing the gate seal and a small leak on the back side of the dam.
Residents and others who have boats on the pond should remove their boats and be prepared for lower-than-normal water levels during the repair phase.
A specific date has not been set for the beginning of the repairs, and it is not known exactly how long the repairs will take, but association leaders said the repairs will begin soon and should take a few weeks.
