RUMFORD — Suzanne Theresa Gallant, 54, of 79 Maine Ave., Rumford, lost her courageous battle to cancer, with her family by her side, on Oct. 21.

She was born Jan. 4, 1957, the daughter of Gerard and Cecile (Melanson) Roy. She was educated at St. John and St. Athanasius School and at Rumford High School. She has been a resident of the community all of her life.

Suzanne spent her life as a homemaker. She loved spending time in her garden, with her family, friends, her dog, Gizmo and the occasional ride on a Harley.

She is survived by her companion, Richard Kreis of Rumford; her sister, Joanne Bouchard and her husband, Wayne, of Rumford; daughter, Melanie Prescott and her husband, Barry, of Dixfield; sons, Matthew Gallant of Rumford and Jeremy Abbott and his wife, Spring, of Carthage; stepson, Christopher Abbott and his wife, Kirtie, of Dixfield; stepdaughter, Allison Abbott of Livermore; grandchildren, Trenton Davenport of Dixfield (stationed in Little Rock, Ark.), Nicholas Davenport of Dixfield and Noah Prescott of Dixfield; step-grandchildren, Jacob and Tyler Clark and Matthew Gault of Carthage, Melissa, Cody, Marissa and Hayden Abbott of Dixfield; and two nephews, Bryan and Cory Bouchard, both of Rumford.

She was predeceased by her parents, Gerard and Cecile Roy.

We would like to thank all whom helped her through this courageous battle against cancer.We are grateful for the care she received at Rumford Hospital, Central Maine Medical Center and Androscoggin Home Hospice.
