WILTON — Police said a local woman is facing charges after crashing her vehicle about 8 p.m. Saturday on Orchard Drive and leaving the scene.

Jessica Ouellette, 33, was arrested a charge of domestic violence and received a summons on charges of leaving the scene of an accident and possession of an illegal drug.

Emergency dispatchers alerted police to calls from residents near the area who said someone was knocking on their doors and saying they had gone off the road. Homeowners were not opening their doors.

When Wilton Officer Billie Martin and Sgt. Rick Billian arrived they found an abandoned 2005 Chevrolet SUV off the road and called for a tracking dog. The vehicle was registered to Ouellette.

Police found Ouellette walking farther down Orchard Drive. The dog identified her as the driver.

A family member was contacted and police found she had punched him in the lip prior to the accident and was in possession of a drug prescribed to him. Ouellette told police she thought she had struck a tree or something when her vehicle went off the road but she wasn’t hurt.

She was released from Franklin County Detention Center on Sunday on $250 cash bail and is scheduled to appear in court Nov. 18.
