LIVERMORE FALLS — Selectmen voted Monday to uphold Town Manager Kristal Flagg’s decision to terminate a town employee.

An employee had appealed Flagg’s decision to selectmen. The employee was terminated on Sept. 20, she said.

The board’s decision followed a 70-minute executive session with the former employee, selectmen, Flagg and town attorney, Flagg said Tuesday.

Selectmen’s vote to affirm Flagg’s decision was made after they were provided information during a fair hearing, she said.

Flagg declined to release the name of the employee and why he or she was fired until she talked to the town’s attorney.

A letter is being drafted to the employee on the board’s findings of fact, Flagg said.

It is the second time in October that selectmen upheld Flagg’s decision to fire an employee. The board backed Flagg on her June decision to dismiss Fire Department Lt. Corey Leclerc.
