OTISFIELD — Spurr’s Corner Church will host its second annual Town Clean-Up Day from 9 to 11:30 a.m., Sunday, Oct. 30.
In lieu of the regular morning church worship services, members and friends will go out in teams and pick up roadside litter. All who are interested can meet at the church, 1005 Route 21, at 8:45 a.m. for juice and doughnuts and to receive the work assignment. Wear work clothes and bring gloves.
Following the clean-up activities, a barbecue lunch will be served at the church featuring grill favorites, salads, rolls, pumpkin pie and apple crisp.
Any money received from returnable bottles recovered will be donated to the Otisfield Community School. The Town of Otisfield will make arrangements for waste disposal fees.
Last year’s clean-up day involved dozens of church members who retrieved numerous truckloads of metal, tires, car parts and general waste from the roadways.
