OXFORD — Black Bear Development said Wednesday that it won’t attempt to prevent the full disclosure of its ownership as seen on its application for a Casino Operator’s License.

The application to the Maine Gambling Control Board, which includes the names of Black Bear’s owners and the percentages of the company they own, was a point of contention at Tuesday’s meeting.

The board was set to release application information as it had received requests for the copies of the application under the Maine’s Freedom of Access Act.

On Tuesday, an attorney for Black Bear requested the board block the release of ownership information, saying it would violate the owners’ privacy and divulge trade secrets. The board disagreed, and ordered that the ownership information be released.

The board set an effective date of Nov. 8, giving Black Bear time to fight the release in court if they chose.

On Wednesday, Black Bear issued a news release saying it had no plans to block the release of information.

“Black Bear Development would like to clarify that it fully respects the Board’s ruling and has no intention to pursue the matter any further,” the release said. “Black Bear Development will continue to work cooperatively with the Board as it reviews Black Bear’s application.”
