FARMINGTON — Lorraine “Mema” M. Adley, 81, of Rumford, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, Oct. 25, at Franklin Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family.

She was born in Mexico, July 29, 1930, a daughter of Frank and Mary (Blanchard) Arsenault. She married Garfield Adley on Feb. 3, 1951, and together they celebrated 48 years of marriage. He passed away on July 8, 1999.

Lorraine and her husband, Garfield, started Adley Home Improvements in 1976, and later established Adley Auto Sales & Service in 1979; the family business that continues today and she was still active in the daily operations.

She was a communicant of Parish of the Holy Savior.

Lorraine loved playing the slot machines and her many trips to Foxwoods and Hollywood Slots with her friends.

She was affectionately known as “Mema” to family and friends. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family. She enjoyed attending all of her grandkids school activities and sporting events.

Surviving are her children, Greg Adley of Rumford, Judy Collette and husband, Victor, of Rumford and Brad Adley and wife, Susan, of Rumford; two sisters, Theresa Roy of Simi, Calif., and Lauretta Arsenault of Rumford; sisters-in-law, Bernadette Arsenault of Lewiston and Barbara Parrella of Rumford; and five grandchildren, David, Elizabeth and Jonathan Adley, Katherine Collette and Celina Adley.

She was predeceased by her parents, Mary and Frank Arsenault; brothers, Edward and Dennis Arsenault; and sisters, Edna Walker and Minnie Arsenault.
