AUBURN — Samuel J. Hutchinson, 67, a resident of Plummer Street, Auburn died Wednesday, Oct. 26, at the Hospice House following a brief illness.
He was born in Lewiston, Oct. 3, 1944, the son of George M. and Marie (Hussey) Hutchinson. He attended Turner schools and was a 1963 class member of Leavitt Institute in Turner.
Samuel served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam conflict for eight years.
Following the war, he worked for several area paving companies for more than 20 years. He was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and boating. He was also an avid New England sports fan, who loved the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots.
Survivors include his mother, Marie Hutchinson of Auburn; one brother, Robert Hutchinson of Tampa, Fla.: one sister, Lucille McKenney of Athens, Ala.; one half sister, Constance Smith of Simi Valley, Calif.; two uncles, Lawrence Hussey of Braintree, Mass., and Delmar Hussey of Pittsfield, N.H.; one aunt, Rita Hood of Auburn; and several nieces and nephews.
