Mommas meeting

RUMFORD — The Red Hat Mommas of Western Maine will meet at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, at Brian’s Bistro. A head count is needed by Thursday, Nov. 3.

The October meeting was held at the CMCC Culinary Arts School with 31 in attendance. Birthdays were celebrated and the tea pot exchange was made. Games were played and gifts were given to the winners.

Church fair

MEXICO — The Mexico Congregational Church, UCC (the “Green Church”) will hold its annual Christmas fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5. George Kimball’s crew will press 70 bushels of apples into cider on the front lawn. Fairgoers may watch or even try their hands at turning a press.

In the dining room, morning coffee and muffins will be available, as well as handmade crafts, a bake sale with cookie walk, cutlery sale and raffles, which include 50/50, a cash prize, two handbraided woolen rugs, a food basket and a number of Chinese auction items.

In the Sunday school wing, two college students will have activities for children. Attic treasures will be found in the conference room on the main floor, along with the sale of new jewelry by a church member. A luncheon will be served at 11:30 a.m. in the church dining room.

ANDOVER — The Andover Firemen’s Association will hold a craft fair on Saturday, Dec. 10. Anyone who wants a table should contact Elaine Morton at 392-1140.
