LISBON FALLS — The Lisbon Historical Society will host guest speaker and author, Nicholas Smith of Brunswick, at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, at the MTM Center.

Smith will give a presentation on his recently published book, “Three Hundred years in Thirty,” an historical record of the Cree Indians of Lake Mistassini, Quebec, and their transition from dependence on the Hudson’s Bay Co. beaver economy to becoming a high tech people.

His photographs document the Cree lifestyle that was similar to the traditional life of the Wabanaki Indians of Maine and New Brunswick.

Smith has interest in the original citizens of North America, particularly the northern Cree of Quebec. The presentation will focus on the Maine Indians and their way of life.

A question-and-answer period, as well as a book signing, will follow the presentation. Refreshments will conclude the evening, which is free and open to the public.
