JAY — Two cars were heavily damaged in a three-car accident Wednesday morning at the intersection of Route 133 and Hyde Road. Two drivers were checked by a NorthStar ambulance medical crew at the scene, police Detective Richard Caton IV said.
Kenneth Bassett, 48, of Farmington was southbound on Route 133 when his 2003 Mercury Sable collided with a car driven by Marilyn DeSoto, 75, of Livermore Falls, who was making a left turn onto Hyde Road, Caton said.
DeSoto’s 2000 Buick Century ended up in a ditch on Route 133 with passenger side damage to the front and rear door, he said.
Bassett’s car received damage to the front end. His vehicle also collided with a Volvo station wagon, driven by Tom Gordon, 46, of Jay, who was stopped at the stop sign on Hyde Road, Caton said.
Bassett and DeSoto were treated at the scene and let go, he said.
Gordon was uninjured and the station wagon he was driving received minor damage.
Both DeSoto’s and Bassett’s vehicles were damaged beyond repair, Caton said.
Caton and Jay firefighters responded to the 9:36 a.m. accident to assist police officer Nicholas Gulliver at the scene.
