LISBON — There will be two contests in municipal elections Tuesday.

Incumbent Roger J. Cote is being challenged by Lisa M. Ward for a three-year council at-large seat.

School Committee member Marcey L. Crosskill, who was appointed earlier this year to fill the seat vacated by longtime member Prudence Grant, is seeking her first full three-year term and is being challenged by Dean G. Willey.

School Committee, three-year term

Marcey L. Crosskill, age 37

Residence: 37 Ferry Road

Occupation: Stay-at-home mom of four children

Marital status: Husband, Chad,

Resident for: Seven years

Education: Some college, no degree

Prior experience: Lisbon Recreation Commission; and Ed Tech Recertification Committee

Why running: She said she has “no agenda per se” and, with four children, she has a desire to learn about the “processes,” hopes to work toward improving the schools and removing probationary status of the high school.

Community involvement: A volunteer in the schools, was named Town of Lisbon Part-time Employee of the Year, and is a volunteer coach in youth sports

Dean G. Willey, age 41

Residence: 30 Oak St.

Occupation: Contractor for CMP on the implementation of the smart grid network in Maine; U.S. Navy veteran

Marital status: Married. He and his wife, Jennifer, have three children, one in each of the schools.

Resident for: 12 years

Education: Technical schooling and military schools

Prior experience: Lisbon Junior Athletic League

Why running: “I believe my diverse technical education, work and life experience have given me a unique set of skills which will benefit our school system.”

Town Council at-large, three-year term

Roger J. Cote, age 55

Residence: 108 Ridge Road,

Occupation: Machine operator at Bath Iron Works for 26 years

Marital status: He and his wife, Sharon, have four grown children

Resident for:   All his life

Education: Lisbon High graduate

Prior experience: Completing his first three-year term on the council; previously served on the Advisory Board and Board of Appeals

Why running: He said he has a “mission and wants to continue working for transparency in town government and to see that people have what they voted for, I don’t take this lightly.” He has attended all meetings since he was elected, except for illness. “I would like to continue in office if the people want me. If they don’t, I’ll accept it.”

Lisa M. Ward, age 37,

Residence: 31 Maple St.

Occupation: F. W. Webb Co. in Lewiston, bath and kitchen sales

Resident for: More than 10 years

Education: Brunswick High School, attended Wells College in New York and studied government and communications

Prior experience: Androscoggin County Community Emergency Response Team; Volunteers In Police Service; and Water Commission, 2-year term, unopposed

Why running: She said she likes living in Lisbon and wants to be more involved in community affairs and make Lisbon a great place to live.

Incumbent Kenneth Wells, 60 Frost Hill Ave., didn’t respond.

A three-year term for an at-large seat on the Budget Advisory Board and a one-year term for Budget Advisory Board District 1 will be filled by write-in votes.
