DIXFIELD — Swasey-Torrey American Legion Post 10o will hold a meeting for all players interested in playing 2012 Legion baseball.

The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 10 at 7 p.m. at the Legion hall. All quality baseball players between the ages of 14 and 19 from Dirigo and Mountain Valley communities and their parents are invited.

The decision whether or not to continue the Legion baseball program in the River Valley will me made as a result of this meeting. At least 12 eligible players must sign up, commit to the June 18-July 25 schedule and pay a $30 fee by Nov. 13.

Post 100 will endeavor to field a team for the 2012 season if and only if the interest to have a team can be documented to the state.

Learn to play lacrosse program

PORTLAND — Boys from grades K-8 are invited to join a weekly learn-to-play lacrosse program.

The program is scheduled for Sundays from 3 to 4 p.m. at the new Riverside Athletic Center, 1173 Riverside Street, Portland. Cost is $140.
