One of Lewiston-Auburn’s major arteries was closed to traffic for more than two hours early Friday morning following an 18 car pileup in which 11 people were hurt.
Icy road conditions caused the first car to go out of control and combined with fog to result in a chain reaction crash in the east bound lane of the Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial Bridge shortly after 6 a.m., according to Lewiston police. An estimated $54,000 damage was done to the vehicles involved.
