BETHEL — Emily Wyman netted a pair of goals and Olivia Brown turned back three shots as Hebron Academy avenged a pair of regular-season losses with an emphatic 5-1 victory over Gould Academy in the teams’ MAISAD semifinal match Wednesday.

Rachel Jurek, Chelsea Boucher and Abby Kinens also scored for the Lumberjacks, who followed up one goal in the opening half with four more in the second half, including three in the first 13 minutes of the final frame.

Hebron will face Kents Hill in the MAISAD final Saturday.

Boys follow suit

HEBRON — Sam Blanchet buried two chances and three other players added one each as the Hebron boys also took out Gould Academy, 5-1.

Pier-Michel Lapointe added three assists for the Lumberjacks (9-5), who will host Kents Hill in the MAISAD championship Saturday.

Jaime Bastos-Mendes, Olivier Knight-Rouleau and Tavis Gibbons also scored for Hebron, and Yago Novoa-Diaz stopped four shots to earn the win in the cage.

Field hockey

Hebron 2, Kents Hill 0

KENTS HILL — Ally Strachan lent a helping hand on goals by Atupele Machika and Hannah Hearn as Hebron Academy dispatched Kents Hill, 2-0, to win the the MAISAD field hockey championship Wednesday.

Machika scored first in the opening half on Strachan’s assist. Then it was Hearn’s turn to score in the second half.

Hebron finished the season at 7-6, while Kents Hill chalked up a 6-3 record. Hebron goalie Sara Grover made one save.
