FARMINGTON — A relay switch on a local substation failed at about 5 p.m. Tuesday, knocking out electrical power to parts of the greater Farmington area, a CMP spokeswoman said.
The outage affected 5,900 customer accounts in parts of several towns, including Farmington, Wilton, Temple and New Vineyard, she said.
Part of the power was back on at 5:45 p.m. Another part was back on at 6:49 p.m. and the rest came back on at 7:04 p.m., she said.
