Songwriters club

BRIDGTON — Songwriters Club registration deadline is Friday, Nov. 18. The program is for grades 6 and up.

Young songwriters will meet for five Mondays, Nov. 21 through Dec. 19, from 3:30 to 5 p.m. The program will allow young songwriters and poets to immerse themselves in their art with like-minded kids their age. Participants will complete a song to be recorded to a CD to take home at the end of the program. Registration forms are available at Town Office or at www.bridgtonmaine.org/recreation.cfm.

Wares Fair

BETHEL — Bethel’s Local Wares Fair, a kick-off to the Country Christmas in Bethel celebration, will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 25, at The Bethel Inn Conference Center, off Main Street, behind  Northeast Bank.

Free horse-drawn wagon rides through Bethel Village will be offered from 2 to 4 p.m. Interested riders should gather in front of the Bethel Library on the Bethel Common.

Tree lighting

OXFORD — The tree lightings will take place Friday, Nov. 25, beginning at 6 p.m. with the tree at the Meeting House at the corner of routes 121 and 26, followed by the tree at the Oxford Rec. Center. Town residents are invited to help light the trees and visit with Santa.

Wreath sale

NORWAY – A Christmas wreaths sale will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, at the Second Congregational Church, UCC, 205 Main St. The public is invited to purchase brightly decorated evergreen wreaths, by Sue Goulet. Attendees are advised to come early, because this annual sale is very popular.

Rotary buffet

BETHEL — The Rotary Club of Bethel will hold its fall all-you-can-eat buffet from 7:30 to 11 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 27, at Ordway Dining Hall, Gould Academy, Church Street.

Tickets are $8 for adults and $3 for children 12 or younger. Tickets in advance $7. Advanced tickets can be purchased from club members or at the River View Resort and Mt. Mann Jewelers. Proceeds benefit the club’s community projects and scholarships.

Computer tutorial

PARIS — Oxford Hills/Buckfield Adult Education will offer a computer lab tutorial class beginning Monday, Nov. 28, from 5 to 7 p.m. and running each Monday evening until Dec. 19.

Questions about a certain computer program or what application would be best for a project can be answered. One-to-one assistance and advice about a home computer and broadband Internet service can also be provided. The instructor will assist in areas such as program issues, online job searching, email usage and other specific computer based issues. This is an educational service and not a technical service.

The fee for this class is $10 per hour. This service is free for students enrolled in Oxford Hills/Buckfield Adult Education diploma and computer courses. To register call the Adult Education office at 743-8842, option 1, between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday. 

Bridge group

WATERFORD — The Waterford Library sponsors an informal bridge group that meets at the library the fourth Monday of each month. The next meeting is on Monday, Nov. 28, at 6:30 p.m.

No partner is necessary. Players with a basic knowledge of bridge are welcome.

The group will not meet in December, meetings will resume in January.
