Holiday events

SUMNER — Pastor Howard MacMullen invites the public to join the members of the Congregational Church of East Sumner in their holiday events. On Wednesday, Nov. 23, there will be a Thanksgiving Eve service, with a light supper at 6:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. worship.

On Dec. 3, the church will have a raffle table at the BJSHS Christmas Craft Fair in Buckfield from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. That evening there will be the 1st Saturday Supper at 5:30 p.m. The meal will be lasagna, bread, salad and dessert. Donations for the meal will help the church with its community ministry.

On Dec. 17, a Living Nativity will take place at 6 p.m. in the church yard, with cookies and cocoa following in the vestry.

The Christmas Eve candlelight service will be held at 7 p.m. with scripture readings and carols. Christmas morning worship will be held at 9 a.m.

Wares Fair

BETHEL — Bethel’s Local Wares Fair, a kick-off to the Country Christmas in Bethel celebration, will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 25, at The Bethel Inn Conference Center, off Main Street, behind Northeast Bank.

Free horse-drawn wagon rides through Bethel Village will be offered from 2 to 4 p.m. Interested riders should gather in front of the Bethel Library on the Bethel Common.

Country Sunday

PARIS — Country Sunday will take place from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 27, at the South Paris Legion Hall, 12 Church St. Adults $5, free for children.
