LIVERMORE FALLS — The Jay Livermore Falls Seniors met at Murray Hall Nov. 14 to celebrate Thanksgiving. There were 36 members present. Doris Tripp became a new member after three meetings.

Chairwoman opened the meeting with a prayer, salute to the flag and a moment of silence for departed members as well as for the men and women serving in the armed forces.

Dot Wilson and Mary Lou Leger are still on the sick list. Antoinette Quirion, who was on the list a couple of weeks ago, has since passed away. Marilyn DeSoto is now at home recuperating from her accident.

Nancy Couture will be catering the Christmas meal. At the Nov. 28 meeting she will have a menu to offer and a vote will be made on the choices. It was noted by Chairwoman Shirley Couture that the meal must be paid at the time of the reservation.

Prior to the meeting a Thanksgiving meal was served. For dessert apple and pumpkin pies were served. Shirley thanked everyone for the help to serve as well as all who brought food. It was approved that the remainder of the pies be donated to the Friends Social Club in Jay.

George Doiron sang “To Grandmother’s house we go” prior to the meal. Shirley wished everyone a Happy Thanksgiving and reminded them there is no meeting the week of Nov. 21. The 50/50 was won by Diane Getz, and door prizes donated by Fernande Doiron and Jean Luciano were won by Francis Therrien, Aurelien Couture and Janet Wright. The group played games and card games.
