LIVERMORE FALLS — Selectmen will get a presentation about the Lewiston-Auburn 911 Communications Center at their Monday meeting, Town Manager Kristal Flagg said Friday.

Director Phyllis Gamache-Jensen will give the overview of the center in the Central Fire Station on Minot Avenue in Auburn.

Currently, 911 calls from Livermore Falls for police and fire are handled by Androscoggin County Communications Center, which is related to the Androscoggin County Sheriff Department. Livermore Falls residents voted to eliminate the local dispatch center in 2009. The voters expected their taxes paid to Androscoggin County would cover the dispatching service as it does for some other towns in the county.

Now it is unknown if Androscoggin County will continue to provide that service or emergency dispatch will be shifted to the Lisbon police communications center or Lewiston-Auburn.

Both are anticipated to come with an additional cost, above county taxes, for the service to be provided, Flagg said.

Gamache-Jensen’s presentation is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 21 at the town office.
