LIVERMORE FALLS — American Legion Post 10 adjutant Don Simoneau is working to organize a “stuff the bank” drive for food pantries.
He put out feelers for the project and said that there has been a good response.
He scheduled a meeting for 6 p.m., Nov. 22, at the George Bunten Post 10 at 17 Reynolds Avenue in Livermore Falls for anyone who can attend.
“It would be great to people at Post 10 . . . to talk about and hopefully set up this program,” he said.
Simoneau said a refrigerated box trailer or box truck may be needed to collect food, and volunteers are sought to handle shifts to collect and deliver the food to the food banks. He said the Legion will also collect donations to buy food or heating oil.
