PORTLAND — Crystal M. Ackerman, 34, of Otisfield, passed away Saturday, Nov. 19, at Maine Medical Center. She left us the same way she lived, surrounded by family and friends.

Crystal was born in Middletown, Conn., Sept. 16, 1977, the daughter of Betty and James. Crystal was brought up in the Oxford Hills region. She graduated from Oxford Hills High School in 1995, where she earned her CNA certification.

She was employed at Norway Rehabilitation and Living Center. Over her 17 years of service, she touched so many lives. Crystal was always willing to help and had her smile ready to brighten up the room. Crystal earned many awards over the years for her dedication to her patients.

Crystal loved to watch Red Sox baseball and always went to Fenway when she could. Her favorite pastime was being with her family and friends, from hosting her many get-togethers to quiet nights at home. Crystal was always surrounded by the ones she loved. She made her home a loving place to everyone she invited in.

Crystal spent most nights at home with her two daughters, Kelsey and Caitlyn and stepson, Chris, as well as the love of her life, Kevin and her beloved pets, Morgan Sullivan and Stu. Crystal’s passion in life and her purpose was her twin teenage daughters. Her pride and dedication to them was obvious to anyone who knew her. From the endless sporting practices and games to the long nights sitting at the kitchen table and helping them with homework, Crystal always had time for her children.
