The city of Lewiston issued an on-street parking ban that started at midnight, Tuesday, Nov. 22, and will last until midnight, Wednesday, Nov. 23.

In Auburn, effective 7 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23, there will be a parking ban on all roadways within the city. The ban will remain in effect until 7 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 24.

Any vehicles parked in violation of either ban will be towed immediately.

The bans have been issued because of a winter storm. As of Tuesday evening, the National Weather Service was predicting that an accumulation of 9 to 13 inches of snow is possible Wednesday. The snow is forecast to begin at about 2 a.m. Wednesday and continue through the day.
