The second annual Hope With Every Step event was held Oct. 1 at the Livermore Falls Recreation Field. The Hope With Every Step 5K race/walk raised nearly $50,000, which will go to the A-T Children’s Project to help find a cure. Josh and Brooke Brochu of Jay and Emmy Rowles of Lewiston are living with ataxia telangiectasia, a neuro-degenerative disease that attacks the part of the brain that controls motor skills. Forty-two runners and numerous walkers participated. The top male and female runners were William Cunningham, 17, with a time of 21:42, and Caitlin Durgin, 25, with a time of 24:44. Curt Morse was the top fundraiser, collecting $4,815.
