Free turkey dinner

LEWISTON — The Dawg House at 1018 Sabattus St. will hold their third annual free turkey day dinner in recognition of veterans from 1 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 24. Dinner is free to all who attend. Proceeds and donations provide money to the veterans of Maine.

Grange potluck

AUBURN — Members of Danville Junction Grange will meet on Friday, Nov. 25, at the hall for a potluck supper at 6 p.m. followed by a business meeting at 7 p.m. Members are reminded to bring small prizes for the bingo game at the close of the meeting. All members and guests are welcome.

PARIS — Wreaths Across America will present Christmas wreaths similar to those being transported to Arlington National Cemetery to the original five posts that formed Western Maine Veteran’s Advisory Committee at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, at the Maine Veterans Home, 477 High St.

Other wreaths will be presented to the gold star mothers monument along with the POW-MIA stone also at the home. Additional wreaths will be presented to the South Paris Memorial Park War Memorial (Moore Park) and to the West Paris American Legion Post 151.

Texas hold ’em

RUMFORD — Black Mountain of Maine’s ski patrol will host a Texas hold ’em tournament Sunday, Nov. 27. The start time is 12:20 p.m. Registration is at 11 a.m. The cost is $40, $5 high hand.

There are only 100 seats available. Food and drinks will be served. To register in advance, call 364-8977.

Sportsmen’s meeting

DIXFIELD — The Webb River Valley Sportsmen’s Club will meet at 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 28, at the clubhouse.

The guest speaker will be Chandler Woodcock, Commissioner of the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife. A meal will follow.

Members are urged to attend.

Henderson luncheon

FARMINGTON — Celebrate Chester Greenwood Day at the Henderson Memorial Baptist for a luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3. The menu includes beef stew, corn chowder, fish chowder with homemade bread. Cookie walk and candy sale will go from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The cost of the event is $6. All welcome.
