FARMINGTON — Registrations are being accepted for the 32nd season of Junior Pro basketball for boys and girls in grades two through six.
Sponsored by the Farmington Recreation Department, the program has a registration deadline of Thursday, Dec. 1.
Preseason Introductory Skills Clinics are planned for Dec. 3.
For the instructional basketball program players will be separated into two divisions with both girls and boys on the same team. Junior Pro is a basketball opportunity for elementary school students who do not play on travel teams or participate in middle school interscholastic basketball.
All games and practices take place in the Bjorn Gymnasium of the Farmington Community Center.
The Recreation Department will be open until 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30, and Thursday, Dec. 1, to accept registrations after hours. Registrations will not be taken over the phone.
During the regular season, Saturday games are scheduled for 10:15 and 11:30 a.m. for Division II, grades four, five and six. Division I games for grades two and three are planned for 1:15 and 2:30 p.m. starting Jan. 7.
Preseason skills clinics and scrimmages take place in December.
Kim Richards serves as director of the program for the 20th year.
A standard registration fee of $20 is charged to all players. The only other fee is a $5 nonresident fee for participants who do not live in Farmington, Farmington Falls, West Farmington or Fairbanks.
