BETHEL — A spaghetti supper to benefit the family of a close friend of a Telstar High School graduate who died in an automobile accident last month will be held at the school cafeteria from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday.

Jordan Cole, 18, of Greenwood, suffered fatal injuries in the crash on Oct. 18.

The Class of 2014 decided to organize a supper to benefit the Sprague family to help with a medical need.

Melissa Poston, adviser to the class, said the reason is because Cole’s family asked that donations be made to the Sprague family in lieu of flowers at the funeral.

“I’m very proud of them for doing this,” Poston said. “It was their idea. They wanted to do something for the community, to give back a little.”

Poston, and co-advisor/fellow-teacher Merrilee Ojeda, have been working with the class and its officers for a couple of weeks. Parents, students and several local businesses are donating all of the food for the supper.

“The supper will honor Jordan Cole,” Poston said.

Andrew Sprague, a fellow 2011 graduate of Telstar, was a close friend of Cole.

Tickets, at $8 for adults, and $5 for children age 12 and under, will be available at the door. The menu is spaghetti, salad, garlic bread, dessert and beverage.

Among the students who have been active in organizing the event are Samantha Mallory, Anna Saucier, Alyssa Brands, Kitty Coolidge and Austin Ryerson.
