Slippery Sliders

RUMFORD — The Roxbury Slippery Sliders Club will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6, at the home of Sylvia Touchette in Roxbury.

Anyone interested in snowmobiling is welcome.

Financial aid

RUMFORD — Mountain Valley High School guidance department will host a financial aid night from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 8, at the library/media center. Trisha Malloy, Central Maine Community College financial aid director, will provide information on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid form, scholarships and the financial aid process. Senior students and their parents are encouraged to attend.

Paresseux party

RUMFORD — Le Paresseux Snowshoe Club will hold a Christmas party Saturday, Dec. 10, at 227 Waldo St.

Social hour starts at 5 p.m. A ham supper will be served at 6 p.m. Music will be provided by Rock & Roll Legends Band from 7 to 11 p.m.

Tickets are $9 for members and $10 for guests and are available at the bar.

Driving course

MEXICO — A Maine Driving Dynamics course is scheduled from 6 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 13, and Thursday, Dec. 15, at Region 9 School of Applied Technology, 377 River Road.

Instructor Eddy Naples, a commercial truck driving instructor for Region 9 School of Applied Technology, said those completing the course will receive a three-point credit on their driving record and possible insurance discount.

The Maine Driving Dynamics course offers crash-avoidance techniques and space cushion driving techniques that are essential for everyday driving situations with films, classroom discussion and lectures.
