DIXFIELD — Ludden Memorial Library’s preschool story time is looking for donations for dogs and cats this holiday season.

Catherine Leonard, who runs the program, said it’s focusing on sharing as a theme.

“Normally, we just have a Christmas party,” she said. “This year we wanted to do something different.”

The children were asked who they would like to help during the holiday season and the group agreed they wanted to take donations for puppies and kittens, Leonard said.

The library will be taking donations of cat litter, cat food, dog food and treats, clean newspapers, blankets, paper towels, bleach and light bulbs until Dec. 19.

The group will present the donations to McKennel’s Animal Adoption Agency in Rumford during their story time on Dec. 19.

The group meets every Monday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the library at 42 Main St. in Dixfield.

Leonard said they read a selected book and build a craft that is related to the story.
