FARMINGTON — Simone M. Ouellette, 96, a former resident of Jay, and a resident of Pinewood Terrace in Farmington for the past year, died peacefully with her family by her side early Thursday, Dec. 1, at Franklin Memorial Hospital.
She was born Sept. 15, 1915, in Chisholm, the daughter of Wilfred and Mary (Lacombe) Dumont. She attended Jay schools graduating from Jay High School.
On June 4, 1946, she married Romeo Ouellette on June 4, 1946. He passed away Aug. 19, 1959.
Simone had worked at the area shoe shops and retired from Bass Shoe in 1983. Simone enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter, Mariette Castonguay and her husband, Tom, of Jay; a son-in-law, Donald Beane of Moscow; grandsons and their wives, Scott and Kelly Castonguay, Todd and Sara Castonguay and Glen and Alison Beane; her granddaughter and her husband, Rebecca and Tom Ambrose; six great-grandsons, Joshua, Ryan and Ethan Castonguay, Noah and David Ambrose and Geoffrey Beane; her great-granddaughter, Erin Castonguay; her nieces and nephews; and her Pinewood Terrace family.
She was predeceased by her parents; her daughter, Camille Beane; three brothers, Roland, Louis and Gerard Dumont; and her sister, Dora Harris.
