LISBON FALLS — Jacob Bussiere, 14, a Life Scout in Boy Scout Troop 109 has begun his Eagle Scout Service Project.
Bussiere decided to give back to the Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital for how important they have been to him and his family. He was diagnosed with ITP when he was five years old and spent many years being treated by doctors and hospitals. Recently his five year old brother was hospitalized in serious condition at the Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital and once again Bussiere saw firsthand just how important it is to do this project.
“I also realized families spend every minute they can with their child at the hospital and thought Christmas must be a very difficult time for them,” he said. “For my project I want everyone at the Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital to know how important they are for everything they do so I am doing a toy drive for the Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital.”
Collection boxes were placed at area businesses throughout the month of November. For more information or to make a donation of new, unwrapped toys and/or money, contact Jacob Bussiere at 353-8696.
