The Portland Ballet Company’s “Victorian Nutcracker” is a family affair for the Plummers of Lewiston. Performing on-stage will be siblings, from left, Kaylee, 13; Ashton, a high school graduate of the Nutmeg Conservatory for the Arts professional program and an apprentice with Portland Ballet; and Melina, 16. With them is Mom, Tina Plummer, who helps with costumes. The production takes the classic “Nutcracker” story and sets it in historical Portland, Maine, with sets, costumes and characters inspired by historical figures. It will be performed at 2 and 7.30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 23, at Portland’s Merrill Auditorium. The story unfolds as young Olivia follows her Nutcracker Prince to the enchanted Kingdom of the Sweets, where she is dazzled by dancers from around the world. Ashton is the Tin Soldier: Spanish Chocolate. For tickets, $17-$47, call 842-0800 or visit www.porttix.com.
