FREEPORT — As part of its seasonal celebration, L.L. Bean will hold its first Holiday Book Festival on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 10-11.

From 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., more than 25 authors of children’s books, adventure stories and other works will be on hand for signings at the flagship store on Main Street or home store across the street.

Notable authors include Dahlov Ipcar, Chris Van Dusen, Angus King, Donn Fendler, Ben Bishop and Lynn Plourde.

In addition to the book festival, L.L. Bean’s Northern Lights event will continue through the season with horse and carriage rides, light displays, caroling and others activities. Entertainment will culminate with a New Year’s Eve celebration for children featuring singer-songwriter Rick Charette and fireworks.
