Coach: Kristin Ross (second year)
Last year’s record: Boys: ninth in WMC, 13th in Class B; Girls: seventh in WMC, 16th in Class B
Returning letter winners: Boys: Seniors — Jake McDonald (distance), Connoor Pinkham (distance); Juniors — Jeremy Doane (distance), Dakota Wyne (distance), Ian Pickett (distance), Corey Wallace (distance), Sam Scales (throws); Sophomores — Trey Rogers (sprints), Nigel Williams (middle distance); Girls: Seniors — Amanda Gagnon (sprints), Miranda Gile (sprints); Juniors — Katie Letourneau (sprints), Ashley Marchesseault (sprints); Sophomores — Delaney Woodford (throws), Katie Burgess (sprints), Nicole Frost (sprints).
Key losses: Kendra Lobley, Eli Murphy.
Promising newcomers: Boys: Senior — Pat Summers (shot, sprints).
Outlook: The Knights lost a lot of points and a lot of experience in the jumps and sprints. But they had 45 kids come out for this season, including a large, enthusiastic freshman class that could infuse an already young team. Rogers, Williams and Woodford are all coming off strong freshman seasons. The girls have the depth to make some noise in the sprints and relays.
Coach’s comment: “We have the potential to hopefully send five or six athletes to the state meet, which is what we did last year.”
