Coach: Heidi Deery (18th year)

Last year’s record: 16-4, lost in Western D quarterfinal

Returning letter winners:  Seniors — Emily Carrier (5-10 guard), Chantal Carrier (5-9 forward); Juniors — Jenney Abbott (5-10 forward), Abby Abbott (5-10 guard); Sophomore — Tori Letarte (5-6 guard); Freshmen — Seve Deery-DeRaps (5-8 guard), Taylor Esty (6-1 guard/forward).

Promising newcomers:  Freshmen — Rachael Weaver (5-7 guard), Valerie Roy-Lessard (5-5 forward); Eighth graders — Shelby Elmes (5-4 guard), Blayke Morin (6-1 forward), Maddison Egan (5-5 guard).

Outlook:  Rangeley has most of its team back from last year, including the Carrier sisters, Chantal (13 ppg) and Emily (12 ppg). The Abbott sisters are also returning starters, but Abby Abbott is out for the year with a knee injury. Letarte, Deery-DeRaps and Esty will see increased roles this year. Rangeley won’t be short on size with two girls over 6-feet and three others at 5-10.

Coach’s comment: “We  will continue to pressure the ball in the full court as they have in past years and look forward to the increase in height in the post position.” Coach Heidi Deery.
