LISBON — Last year James Caron doubled the number of lights at his 13 Crest Ave. house, building on his family’s popular animated Christmas landscape and lights display. He also started accepting donations for the Ronald McDonald House.

Once again, he has added to the show and is accepting donations for the South Portland charity, including nonperishable food items and toiletry products (toothpaste, deodorant, etc.). Items can be delivered to his home during show times, which are Sunday through Thursday from 4:30 to 9:30 p.m., and each Friday and Saturday from 4:30 to 10 p.m.

New elements of the show include shooting stars, leaping arches, a “leg lamp” at the front door and a spiraling tree at the center of the display.

Motorists passing in front of the house can tune to 107.1 FM to hear the music, which Caron has coordinated with the characters’ actions.

Seven other homes on the street are also festooned with Christmas lights, Caron said, making this “a nice place to bring your family to see a few houses with lights.”
