Ed Buschmann, owner of Dun Roamin’ Tree Farms on Dyer Road in Lewiston, stands among his Christmas tree grove on Friday. Buschmann is a member of the National and Maine Christmas Tree Association and has participated in the Trees for Troops program for the past five years. Tree growers across the country donate about 20,000 trees annually to the program. “This is a positive thing,” Buschmann said. “Where would we be without our troops? We just want to bring a little bit of cheer to our troops and their families. They sacrifice so much for us.” The program is a collaborative effort with FedEx.
