The new Canal Street bridge next to Wilson Lake in Wilton reopened to traffic Friday afternoon. Town officials, a Maine Department of Transportation assistant engineer and Harry Pottle of TBuck Construction, with shovel, gathered for a brief ribbon-cutting ceremony to open the bridge. Some painting and work, about a week’s worth, remains to be completed next spring when the weather is warmer, Pottle said. The one-lane bridge with sidewalk leads to the boat ramp on the lake. Selectman Paul Gooch, left, and board Chairman Terry Brann (not seen, on right) tie the ribbon.
