The Eepybird guys have launched a new online video demonstrating their wish to squeeze every bubble from the mixture of Coke Zero and Mentos. The Buckfield artists’ new video returns them to the rocket car test track, this time in a new, lighter car constructed from a pedal car.

“The goal was to build it smaller, sleeker, faster, more efficient,” said Fritz Grobe, one half of the duo that also includes Stephen Voltz. “We had a super amount of fun taking what we learned from the Mark I and applying it to the new and improved rocket car, Mark II.”

The first car debuted in a video made by “The Fast and the Furious” director Rob Cohen last year. It was seen on YouTube more than 3 million times and landed the guys on a variety of TV shows, including a run in midtown Manhattan with David Letterman at the wheel.

The new video debuted on Wednesday.

By Friday afternoon, it had already been watched more than 83,000 times by people around the world, according to You Tube’s own tracking.

Will this one send the guys on another media tour?

“I have no idea,” Grobe said. “It’s always fun to create something and see what happens. We’ll just have to wait and see.”

Rather than making another Hollywood production, this video was filmed at Oxford Plains Speedway in Oxford with a crew that included Michael Miclon, the Buckfield entertainer who filmed the guys’ first wildly successful videos.

The first car managed to get 221 feet on the power of 108 bottles of soda and 648 Mentos. The new car used exactly half as much Coke and candy to get 239 feet.
