AUBURN — Ella M. Dumond, 81, of Auburn, passed away Friday, Dec. 9, at her home.

She was born in Lewiston on May 6, 1930, daughter of the late Horace and Irene Fahey Evans. She was educated in Auburn schools, graduating from Edward Little High School in 1948. Prior to her retirement in 1994, Ella was employed at the Dunlap Corporation as a contract bond specialist.

She was married on April 15, 1978, to Norman Dumond, who predeceased her on April 5, 2001. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish at Sacred Heart Church, Sacred Heart Church Choir and the National Association of Women in Construction. Ella loved animals, enjoyed crossword and jigsaw puzzles and was an avid Red Sox fan. She also volunteered at the Greater Androscoggin Humane Society.

She is survived by a son, Michael Richards, and wife, Sandra, of St. Cloud, Fla.; a stepson, Gerard Dumond of Lewiston; four grandchildren, Amber Emond, Jeremy Dumond and Derek and Meghan Richards; four great-grandchildren, Brynn and Brody Emond and McKenna and Olivia Richards; a brother, Edward Evans Sr., of Fort Myers, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Gail Richards of Lewiston; and nieces and nephews, Shannon McEwen, Bruce Evans, Sandy Dostie and Edward Evans Jr.
