LIVERMORE FALLS — The RSU 73 School Board voted unanimously Thursday to enter into a one-year contract with the Jay Secretaries and Library Clerks Association for July 1 through June 30, 2012, Superintendent Robert Wall said Monday.

The pact gives the Jay secretaries and library clerks a 1.5 percent wage increase.

The contract is not retroactive, Wall said.

Association members approved the agreement on Nov. 16, he said.

In other business, directors approved an adult education cooperative agreement with adult and communication programs in RSU 9 in the Farmington area and RSU 52 in the Turner area, Wall said.

The proposed agreement is also expected to go before the school boards in the other two school districts.

In another matter, Wall presented RSU 73 directors with a proposed budget timeline for 2012-13.

All administrative budgets are due to the superintendent on Jan. 13. The administrative team will do two reviews of the budget in March.

The proposed budget will then be reviewed by the School Board on Tuesday, April 10, in Livermore, Tuesday, April 17, in Livermore Falls and Tuesday, April 24, in Jay.

The timeline calls for the board to approve the budget on Thursday, May 10.

A districtwide budget meeting will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 5, at the Spruce Mountain High School North Campus in Jay. Residents of Jay, Livermore and Livermore Falls will have a chance to set the budget.

A yes or no referendum on the bottom line of the budget is scheduled for Tuesday, June 12, in all three towns.
