RUMFORD — Malcolm Eugene Jones, 79, died on Friday, Dec. 16, at the Rumford Hospital. He was a resident of Forest Avenue in Rumford.

Born in Rumford on Jan. 26, 1932, he was a son of S. Harris and V. Marguerite (Russ) Jones. He was a graduate of Stephens High School with the Class of 1950. He worked for local shoe shops and G.H. Bass in Rumford and Wilton.

He was a member of St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Portland.

Survivors include three sisters, Helen Malley, of Mexico, Marcia Alice Barkey, of Findlay, Ohio, and Nora Babb, of Plantersville, Miss.; brothers, Walter Jones, of Rumford, Harold “Okie” Jones, of Canton and Herman Jones, of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; and many nieces and nephews.
