WALES — A broken water pump at Oak Hill High School forced officials to send students home Monday, and cancel school Tuesday.
“No pump, no water,” RSU 4 Superintendent Jim Hodgkin said. “It had nothing to do with the cold.”
The water stopped running Monday morning after students arrived at school. Classes were called off and students sent home at 11 a.m. Since lunch was already prepared, students were able to eat, Hodgkin said.
On Tuesday, the pump will be replaced. There will be school on Wednesday and Thursday, Hodgkin said. The Christmas vacation begins Friday.
