LEWISTON — Marie L. Marquis, 83, a resident of Martin Drive, Lewiston, died unexpectedly early Monday, Dec. 19, at St. Mary’s d’Youville Pavilion.
She was born in St. Gedeon, P.Q., July 11, 1928, the daughter of Louis and Marie (Tanguay) Giroux.
Marie was very family orientated who loved her family and always greeted anyone with a smile. She was a strong woman of faith who loved her God and her church.
Her hobbies included knitting and sewing and also enjoyed working in her vegetable garden at home.
Survivors include three sons, Gaetan Marquis and wife, Marie, of Lewiston, Reginald Marquis and wife, Rita, of Randolph and Gaston Marquis of Sabattus; two daughters, Carol Swearingen and husband, Mark, of Wales and Linda Hobart and husband, Dee, of West Forks; one brother, Denis Giroux of St. Gedeon, P.Q.; two sisters, Rita Carrier and husband, Gregoire, of Montreal, and Marie Rose Lachance of St. Gedeon, P.Q.; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Ovilda Marquis on Nov. 23, 1998.
